Google published new insights from its AI and Economy ATLAS on September 15, including data on how AI is being used in workplaces around the world. The company said India’s creative industry is using AI at a higher rate than the global average, according to its analysis.
Google reported that arts, design and media occupations account for 19% of work-related AI usage in India, which it described as 1.6 times the global average. The company also said computer and mathematical occupations account for 30% of work-related AI usage in the United States, twice the share in the rest of the world.
The figures are useful for students and job seekers because they connect AI adoption with specific kinds of work rather than treating AI use as a single category. They also point to differences between countries and occupations in how people are applying AI.
Google said it was launching an interactive, open-access experience to make ATLAS data easier to explore. The company described the dataset as containing millions of global data points.
