Anthropic has launched Claude Haiku 5.5, the third model in its Claude 5.5 family in the past month, according to Reuters. The release expands the company's AI model lineup as it prepares for a planned initial public offering.
Haiku 5.5 is designed for tasks including classification, summarization and extraction, with uses such as live support, voice agents and in-app assistants. Anthropic is pricing it 75% lower than its predecessor, Haiku 4.5.
For prompts under 100,000 tokens, the new model costs $0.10 per million input tokens and $0.50 per million output tokens. For longer prompts, the prices rise to $0.50 and $2.50 respectively. Anthropic also said Haiku 5.5 is its first Haiku model with built-in safeguards for a narrow set of high-risk cybersecurity requests.
The release gives developers another model option for workloads where speed, cost and task-specific performance matter. Anthropic said most everyday tasks would not be affected by the added cybersecurity safeguards, according to Reuters.
